The Vision of Christian Life Church, Montgomery AL

We are committed to fulfilling the Great Commission in our world, in our day. We desire to know God and to make Him known to the world. We will accomplish this through the teaching of God's Word, prayer, worship, youth ministry, fellowship, personal ministry to families and individuals, outreach both in our community and around the world, and networking with other ministers and churches to strengthen them and be strengthened, so that together, we can reap a global harvest.

Humble Beginnings

Christian Life Church began as a stirring in the hearts of the Founding Pastors, Dr. Steve and Denice Vickers. During a time of prayer, the Lord directed them to start a church in Montgomery, Alabama, and on August 3rd, 1980, fifteen people gathered in their home, and Christian Life Church began. During the very first service someone was saved, and this set a precedent, which is ongoing today. They had asked the Lord to send in people of all races, cultures and backgrounds, and He answered their prayers.

The church began renting a small church building. As the congregation grew, it moved several times to leased facilities until it purchased our current facility. We have two Sunday morning services weekly and a variety of small group meetings throughout the week.

A Passion For The Lost and Hurting

Throughout the history of Christian Life Church, its founding Pastors, Dr. Steve and Denice Vickers, have ministered to other ministers both in the United States and overseas, traveling to many nations. Christian Life Church has supported many missionaries and missions works covering all five continents.

Because of the call on his life to minister to ministers, Dr. Vickers, along with a number of Apostolic Leaders, founded Harvest Churches International in September 2003. Its mission statement is "Strengthening the Local Church to Reap a Global Harvest". As the President of this non-profit organization, he is working together with apostolic and grass roots leadership to build additional leaders, minister to ministers, and network churches and ministries together for the purpose of reaching the lost in these last days.

In December of 2005, Dr. Steve and Denice Vickers turned the pastorate of Christian Life Church over to his son-in-law and daughter, Brian and Stacy Hebert, in order to free himself from the day-to-day operations of the church and allow more time to work in establishing Harvest Churches International. He is involved in leadership and training meetings for Harvest Churches International, and he and Denice both travel and minister at churches, conferences and missions conferences both in the states and overseas.

The Foundation Is Solid

Christian Life Church, Montgomery, Alabama, has a solid foundation, and the church is moving forward in the vision established by our founders, Dr. Steve and Denice Vickers. From its humble beginnings in their home, Christian Life Church has become a dynamic force for the Kingdom of God throughout the world. It's a multi-racial, multicultural body of believers, reaching out to the lost and hurting and meeting needs through relationships and a variety of ministries.

The Beat Goes On

Pastors Brian and Stacy Hebert have been a part of the Christian Life Church staff since Pastor Brian was twenty-two and Stacy was a teenager. Pastor Brian started in maintenance and Stacy was the church receptionist. Since that time, they have worked in almost every area of the church, helping to fulfill the vision. They were the Youth and Children's Pastors for a number of years and, Stacy served as the Media and Women's Ministry Director. Pastor Brian has been the Executive Pastor for the last several years, taking on more of the day-to-day responsibilities of the church.

Pastors Brian and Stacy are very excited about the future of Christian Life Church. Working together with staff and leadership, they believe God has chosen them to continue the legacy begun by Dr. Steve and Denice Vickers through a variety of innovative ministry and media venues. They are passionate about missions and are actively involved in taking the gospel to the lost through ministry outreach, giving, short-term missions trips and their involvement in Harvest Churches International. As people continue to be saved weekly in services and lives are being touched and changed forever, the legacy continues, and the vision is being fulfilled.
